Powers Irish Pub & Archie’s Barn

The tavern Is one of the oldest buildings in the town of Halfmoon NY. The property was the stage coach stop between Albany and Saratoga N.Y.  Weary guests could spend the night and dine in the tavern. Horses could be kept in the barn complete with a blacksmith shop. This property is full with ghost tales written about in several publications through the years. This property was purchased by Paul and Margaret Hoffman from the estate of Archie Meyers in the early 1960’s and has remained in the Hoffman family ever since.

Today Bryah Gifford is the modern day innkeeper with his great Irish Pup food,festive Irish music and such a wonderful time for all travelers.  http://www.powersinnandpub.com

Archie’s Barn was Glen Street Associates 2017 Project. This magnificent barn circa 1825  has weathered the test of time. The barn is part of The Dater Taverns spread of buildingsrestored.  2017 was the time to restore this hand hewn masterpiece into a treasure for many to enjoy for years to come. Glen Street Associates and a handful of craftsmen raised the building, removed rotten parts, insulated, added power and lovingly restored it to what it may have looked like back when it was the new kid on the block!
